How to start a Career

These and similar questions were answered by Saskia Schmitt (HR Business Partner), Fabienne Borutha (apprentice) and Andreas Mücke (Head of Apprenticeship) during their visits to Ernst-Barlach-Realschule plus from February 2, 2023 - February 10, 2023, where they took part in "Technology and Natural Sciences (TuN)" lessons for grades 9c and 9d, among other things. This is one of four possible compulsory elective subjects currently offered by the school, along with "Home & Social Affairs", "French" and "Business and Administration".

They discussed questions such as "What hurdles await me in the future?", "What belongs in a complete application?" and "How do I find out about the right training profession as well as my future employer?" 

They also introduced our company to the interested students and provided information about the 8 apprenticeship programs available at Deloro: machining mechanic, electronics technician, industrial mechanic, IT specialist, industrial clerk, foundry mechanic, materials tester and technical product designer, as well as the BA E Mechanical Engineering (m/f/d).

The focus was not on "advertising for Deloro" but on active and empathetic assistance in preparing for a career after leaving school. On the one hand, it is important to know what one can do and enjoys doing, and on the other hand, what professions are out there that can be learned. If you find out both, you have to convincingly convey why you are the ideal candidate for the job.

The Delorians reported from practice and were happy to answer the students' questions, so that the 90 minutes flew by.
